Maps, Books and Compasses.

 

I feel that knowledge is power and so maps, guide books and route books are the key to getting the most out of your day. I tend to plan my routes far into the future. Gathering all sorts of information down to the local pub and tea room. However, this information is only valid if it is up to date and that’s why we do not stock 1000’s of publications because things change. What we can offer is finding you the most up to date source. This sometimes takes a little while as publishers often want to sell the old ones off first, but we have good relations with a couple of distributors and so can order in the latest edition.

However, we keep a good range of books that is based around some favourite areas but it takes a lot to beat the O.S. Maps especially the explorer 1:25000 scale which also show the field boundaries.

I have always felt the quality and accuracy of Cicerone publications difficult to beat.

And of course the classic Wainwright Guides are a true treasure just like the mountains themselves.
